SNIFFS OUT TROUBLE · REAL WORKSHOPS

Your bike's doing great.
Let's keep it that way.

Maintenance that smells trouble before it leaves you stranded, all in one subscription. You just ride: the network's workshops handle the rest (with a little help from AI).

THE PROBLEM

Looking after a bike is a bit of a headache

Fixed when it's already too late

You step in after a week of creaking. And the bike always quits on the one weekend that matters.

Every shop does it their own way

Prices, quality and turnaround change with every shutter. And you just cross your fingers.

No go-to mechanic

Nobody remembers your bike. Or you, let's be honest.

Other apps tell you your chain is toast. Then what? Then you're on your own: no workshop, no backup, nothing at all.
THE SOLUTION

CrankPal: all in one, so you can stop thinking about it

01

Predictive app

Estimates wear from your mileage, weather and manufacturer intervals — getting sharper as your bike's history grows.

02

All-in subscription

Scheduled maintenance in a single monthly fee.

03

Workshop network

Physical service with CrankPal quality standards, in a network growing city by city.

The data that sharpens predictions: GPS, smartphone motion sensors, Bluetooth speed sensors on the wheel, Strava and Garmin, maintenance history → ever more accurate wear predictions.
TECHNOLOGY

From reactive to predictive

CrankPal algorithms combine multiple data sources to predict wear before it becomes a breakdown.

THE WIDGET

Your bike's dashboard, right on the Home Screen

Five lamps like a car's dashboard: drivetrain, brakes, wheels, steering and contact points. Green when all is well, amber when it's time to plan a check-up, red when the bike should be checked before you ride again. Below, the total odometer and the one since the last service. Without opening the app.

  • Three sizes: small, medium and large, with a lamp legend
  • The app's own forecasts, updated after every ride
  • One tap and you're in the app, ready to book
Ride sources in the CrankPal app: phone motion, automatic GPS and a compatible sensor, each with its upsides and its limits
RIDES THAT RECORD THEMSELVES

No Strava, no Garmin, no Start button

Your phone already knows when you are on a bike: it keeps seven days of motion history, and CrankPal reads it back when you open the app. Rides recognised with confidence go in on their own, the others are proposed to you. No battery, no location permission, no account to connect. If you want the route on the map as well, turn on automatic GPS: it starts when you set off and stops when you stop. And Strava or Garmin, if you have them, carry on as before: the sources live side by side, and if the same ride arrives from two of them the kilometres count once.

  • Phone motion: kilometres estimated from the duration and labelled as such, with no GPS and no battery drain
  • Automatic GPS: exact kilometres and the route on the map, without pressing Start
  • Strava and Garmin stay an option, not a requirement: the app works on its own
The CrankPal app: the guide to pairing a third-party speed sensor, and the bike screen with the Garmin Speed Sensor 2 recognised, connected and showing its battery charge
YOU ALREADY HAVE THE SENSOR OPTIONAL, WORKS WITHOUT IT TOO

Any speed sensor will do, and the kilometres become exact

If there is already a Bluetooth speed sensor on your wheel, CrankPal uses it: Garmin, Wahoo, Magene, XOSS, CooSpo, iGPSPORT, Bryton, Polar, SIGMA, CatEye, Bontrager, Giant. All it takes is the standard CSC profile, the one fitted to just about every speed sensor on sale, and fifteen euros will do. It counts wheel revolutions, so it measures your kilometres instead of estimating them: no GPS, even with the app closed and the phone in your pocket. You pair it with a bike once, and from then on every ride lands on the right bike without you choosing anything.

  • Make and model recognised on their own, with the sensor's photo in the app
  • One sensor per bike: rides are attributed by themselves, even if you own three
  • Battery charge always in view, in the app and on your bike shop's screen

  • BrytonSmart Speed Sensor
  • SIGMADUO Speed
  • CatEyeISC-12
  • PolarSpeed Sensor

These are the ones CrankPal knows by make and model, with their photo. But any Bluetooth speed sensor with the standard CSC profile will count your kilometres, even if it is not on this list.

NEW · CRANKPAL SENSOR

The sensor that counts every ride, even without your phone

It sits on the hub and counts every turn of the wheel: exact kilometres, road surface and elevation reach the app and your bike shop's service forecasts, even when your phone stayed home.

  • Stores more than 200 rides and hands them to the app the next time it connects
  • Feels tarmac, cobbles and gravel: wear is estimated on the roads you actually ride
  • Works with your bike computer, or stays locked to your profile

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

When does the app launch? Can I try it now?

Yes, in beta: ask for your invitation for iPhone or Android and use CrankPal before it reaches the stores.

Leave your email: we'll write the moment CrankPal is downloadable. One email, no spam.

How does CrankPal predict component wear?

The CrankPal AI engine combines GPS, smartphone motion sensors, Strava data and your maintenance history to estimate the remaining life of each component — and warns you before it becomes a breakdown.

Do I need to install sensors on my bike?

No. The smartphone you already carry is enough: GPS and motion sensors do all the work. Strava integration is optional and syncs your rides automatically.

Which bikes does it work with?

All the main categories: city, road, gravel and cyclocross, MTB and downhill, triathlon and track, folding and cargo — e-bikes included. Register yours in a couple of minutes and the predictions tune themselves to how you ride.

What happens to my ride data?

It is used to estimate the wear on your bike's components: distance, routes and riding conditions feed the predictions. All the details are in the privacy policy.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. The subscription is monthly with no commitment: change plan or cancel anytime, right from the app.

Where can I find affiliated workshops?

The app shows a map of affiliated workshops with real-time availability. The network is expanding, starting from major Italian cities.

I run a workshop: how much does joining cost?

It depends on the affiliation level: from a simple agreement up to the CrankPal Point franchise. Find all the details on the dedicated workshop page.
