How long do your bike components last? Calculator

Chain, brake pads, tyres: every component wears at its own pace. Tell us how much and how you ride, and get a ballpark estimate of how many kilometres — and how many months — to expect before replacement.

How to read these numbers

This is a simplified, deliberately conservative estimate: it starts from average reference lifespans and applies just a few factors (bike type, terrain, riding in the wet), with rounded values. It doesn't account for your weight, riding style, component quality, maintenance, tyre pressure or the actual conditions of each ride. Use it as an order of magnitude, not a precise deadline: real-world life can vary a lot.

How CrankPal really calculates it

In the app, CrankPal doesn't settle for averages: it measures your real rides via GPS, Strava and Garmin — distance, elevation, weather and surface type — and cross-references them with your workshop's service history. That way it estimates the wear of every single component on your bike and warns you before it fails, instead of at fixed table intervals.
