Yes, if you leave it open: to your bike computer it's an ordinary Bluetooth speed sensor (no ANT+). Rides from Strava and Garmin keep arriving in the app as before.
We recommend the rear, which also counts kilometres on an indoor trainer with the wheel on. The front works too, and feels the road without drivetrain noise.
If you keep it locked to your profile, to anyone else it's a silent object: it won't pair with another account and it can't be reset by hand. It protects the sensor, not the bike: it has no GPS and won't find your bike.
More than a year at one hour of riding a day, according to design estimates. It's a coin cell, you change it yourself, and the app tells you when it's time.
