Cookie Policy

Version 1 · Last updated: 14 July 2026

1. What cookies and similar technologies are

Cookies are small files stored by your browser; similar technologies (such as localStorage) store information on your device with equivalent functions. This policy describes what crankpal.com uses and why. Controller: CrankPal S.r.l. — privacy [at] crankpal.com (see the Privacy Policy).

2. What we use

The site uses no profiling cookies and no third-party tracking tools. We only use first-party elements:

NameTypePurposeDuration
crankpal_regionTechnical cookieStores your selected region/language to show the correct site version12 months
Plan preference cookieTechnical cookieRemembers the plan selected during workshop signupSession / short term
crankpal_refTechnical cookie (referral)Remembers the code or invitation you arrived with, to attribute the referral — and the related credits — at signup30 days
crankpal_inviteTechnical cookie (referral)Remembers the personal invitation received by email, to apply its conditions at signup30 days
cp_cidlocalStorage (measurement)Random first-party identifier for aggregate site usage statistics (page views, signup funnel)Until manually cleared
cp_sesslocalStorage (measurement)Session identifier for statistics (expires after 30 minutes of inactivity)30 minutes of inactivity
cp_ref_*localStorage (technical)Attribution of invite/referral codesUntil manually cleared

Measurement is performed with a first-party system (no external products); data is used in aggregate form to understand how the site is used and improve it. If you arrive from a campaign, we may record campaign parameters (e.g. utm, click identifiers) associated with the measurement identifier.

Management system session recording. Within the workshop management system's private area, CrankPal uses a first-party session recording (session replay) tool, hosted on its own infrastructure, for support and diagnostics: it records interactions with the interface in masked form (the text and values of fields, emails and numbers are obscured; passwords are never captured). It is not used on the public pages of the site and can be disabled for an individual workshop on request to Customer Support.

3. Legal basis and consent

Technical and preference cookies do not require consent and are always active. Measurement identifiers (cp_cid, cp_sess) and campaign click identifiers are activated only after your consent, collected through the banner shown on your first visit (Accept and Reject have equal prominence). If you reject or ignore the banner, no measurement identifier is stored on your device: we only record anonymous page counts, with no identifier. If you reject, the banner will not be shown again for 6 months.

4. Managing preferences

You can change your choice at any time here: Manage cookies. You can also delete or block cookies and localStorage from your browser settings (region and preference storage will be lost).

5. Changes

We will update this policy if the tools we use change; the current version is always published on this page.
